The 2019 Burgess Contadina Cabernet Sauvignon comes from the historic Sorenson Vineyard, first planted in 1872 by Swiss-Italian immigrants. For more than 150 years, this iconic vineyard has been the heart of Burgess. Situated at elevations of 800 to 1,000 feet above sea level, Sorenson Vineyard occupies the western-facing slopes, while Haymaker Vineyard extends across the eastern-facing slopes of Howell Mountain, overlooking the Napa Valley below.
Produced from the exceptional 2019 vintage, this powerful, classically styled wine is predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon, with small amounts of Petit Verdot and Merlot adding elegance, lift, and complexity. It was aged for 22 months in 100% French oak, resulting in a wine that is beautifully expressive in its youth while possessing the structure to age gracefully for many years.
A great Cabernet at an exceptional value, the 2019 Burgess Contadina is drinking beautifully now and promises even greater rewards with additional cellaring.
