Good full red. Redcurrant, black cherry, licorice, iron and graphite on the nose, complicated by mocha and game. Silky-sweet and intense, with harmonious ripe acidity giving shape to the middle palate. Finishes long, but with more powerful and less elegant tannins than the Champeaux. This will need a good seven or eight years of cellaring. Quite fresh for the vintage, as this parcel clearly benefited from the cooling influence of the combe [Stephen Tanzer, 03/01/2010]

Tasted at the Domaine. This is a wonderful Lavaux from Arnauld Mortet. It has a very expressive bouquet not a million miles away from the Premier Cru (that sweet shop once more!) The palate has very fine, succulent tannins, symmetrical and firm, very pure on the finish with bright, slightly tart red-berried fruits with a hint of white pepper. This Lavaux is well-crafted with great precision. Superb. Drink 2012-2025. Tasted January 2009. [Neal Martin, 01/01/2009]
