Muscardini RESERVE Cabernet Sauvignon 2022

Our 2022 RESERVE consists of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon and 12% Merlot all from the beautiful Cassata Vineyards in Sonoma Valley. Cassata Vineyards, a biodynamically‑farmed hillside estate in Sonoma Valley, produces richly structured Cabernet‑based wines. The vineyards grow just above the valley floor with cool fog influence, a pond for wildlife, and a commitment to sustainable terroir stewardship.

 

The wine opens with concentrated aromas of black cherries and currants complemented by subtle hints of bittersweet chocolate, black tea, wild sage, fresh earth, and roasted nuts. On the palate, the classic notes of ripe blackberry and dark plum are integrated with hints of balsamic, crushed herbs, espresso, and layers of rustic spices. This wine displays tannic grip with a savory finish that show its depth and age-worthy elegance.

 

Pairs best with grilled ribeye, braised short ribs with red wine reduction, charred eggplant pasta, spinach and goat cheese stuffed portobellos, and aged cheddar or gouda cheese served with fig jam and spiced nuts.
