Thread Feathers Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon 2023

Winemaking:

Grapes were handpicked, and optically sorted around 25.5 brix throughout 2 vineyards within the Stag Leap District AVA. After a 3-day cold soak, tank temperatures were brought up to 95 degrees for maximum color extraction. After full extraction has been achieved, temperatures were brought down, cooling the tank and slowing the fermentation to capture the freshness and elegance of the fruit. We pressed “sweet” allowing the final stages of fermentation to take place in French oak barrel.

Our 2023 Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon offers dark, alluring, layered intensity with notes of black berry fruit alongside a rich, mouth-enveloping texture. This wine is classic Stags Leap District Cabernet, offering aromas and flavors of blackcurrant, cassis, dark raspberry and black cherry alongside delicate notes of cedar, allspice, graphite and espresso, backed up by more savory notes of olive tapenade and chaparral herbs. There is depth, finesse and elegance, interweaving power, grace and structure, full of velvety rich tannins and a long, lingering fresh finish.
