92 pts Critic tasting note: (2021 vintage) "Soft-bodied and savory, the nose of this Pinot gives crushed cherry, dried sage and black tea aromas, while the palate feels crunchy and zesty in equal measure. Flavors of cinnamon, pepper and clove-studded orange peel emerge on the long and richly tannic finish. Cellar this for a few years and pair with a hearty steak." - Wine Enthusiast

Aromatically compelling, Fort Ross coastal Pinot tends to show a bright red cherry and light spice nose, with red damson plum skins, notes of conifer (redwood trees), and a saline raspberry, allspice and fresh herb bouquet. In the mouth it is brisk and kinetic, moving all around the palate with cool earth, black raspberry, sweet black plum, tea, quinine, and bergamot flavors. The finish gains some speed, with racy bing and Ranier cherries, and leaves on a crisp, grippy note, reminding you there are tannins present. A nice mouthwatering exit, that lingers.
